Born 1976 in Brighton it wasn't until 1986 that I started to have an interest in golf. My father gave me an old hickory shafted club that was cut down to my size and within that summer I was well and truly hooked. Unfortunately that summer saw two accidents that have never happened since. 1st I snapped my golf club under a tree, 2nd I broke the bathroom window with a thinned shot while practising in the back garden.
The next 10 years at Seaford Golf Club saw my golfing ability go from strength to strength. As an amateur I played and won various club, county and regional competitions, with the highlights being playing in the 'La Manga Masters' making the finals of the 'Daily Mail Foursomes' and winning the at the 'Philcoxs Family Foursomes' with my late Father.
Turned professional in 1995 and started the PGA training System while training under P.Dobson at Lewes Golf Club. During my training I soon realised that Dobson's success was due to using old school teaching methods and 'mirroring' which as a left-handed he did very well. I set about learning the golf swing left handed so I could demonstrate clearly to my pupils as an mirror image as they swung. With the practise ground on top of a cliff and by teaching in force 7 winds I became very experienced in teaching shaping and controlling shots in difficult conditions.
In 1999 I Qualified with near perfect marks from the training academy based at the 'Belfry' and almost straight away looked for ways to further my career.
In 2000 I Joined Sedlescombe Golf Club to work alongside the Head professional in creating the country's leading golf school. This is where I learnt valuable lessons in modern day teaching methods. By using the latest technology in computer software, the best facilities in the area, specialising in Group lessons, teaching by a system of goal driven targets, looking at the pupils long-term development and seeing teaching as a business I developed my experience considerably.
2007 - 2008 Pachesham Park and The Golfing Park. Having spent so long working at just two golf clubs I wanted to experience different types of golf complexes, one was chosen simply due to location and the other by it's reputation of being one of the busiest clubs in the area and the site of Mizuno's national fitting centre. Both these jobs taught me the same lesson and that was that I had to set up my own company that would learn from the downfalls of my previous jobs and improve on what they did well in order to be successful.
In 2009 I Set-up www.golf-4-all.com. There are many factors that now go into the ambitions of the company but the number one goal is to provide the best golf tuition at the best price possible. I also believe that without grass roots junior golf being encouraged there will not be much of a future for anyone in golf and therefore strongly commit to promoting this vital area.
